Nobody wants to be a yes-man but that does not make it any easier to say no at your workplace. To create a good impression at work we often say to almost everything that comes to us-eventually increasing our workload.
Whether you’re being asked to stay after working hours, assigned a task that you think is a bad idea, how do you say ‘NO’ to such task that kill your time.
Things that don’t contribute to your role and responsibility learn to say No for them. Before you say yes to for something else check out your to do list and then jump onto other tasks.
If you think the meetings are not related to your work don’t attend it because it will consume your time and your other work will not be able to complete at the given time.
Stop answering e-mails and messages after you step out of the office until it’s really important. Try to maintain a healthy work-life balance, indulge yourself in learning something new in your time.
If you think that the timeline for a project is unrealistic, speak up. Tell the concern person that the particular task can’t be done within the proposed deadline.
Say yes for extra work when you have nothing else to do. If you are already completing your previous work then don’t take the extra work.
