Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur concluded Summer Placement 2020 on February 13. The institute has recorded 100% summer placement this year. The average stipend in this season placement programme stood at Rs 60,953 (higher by 12.7%) and the highest stood at Rs 2.50 (higher by 108%) against the last summer placement season.
All the 212 students enrolled in the seventh batch of the 2-year postgraduate programme in Management have been hired by different companies from various sectors.
There were more than 100 companies from different sectors such as FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), consumer durables, Edtech, E-commerce, analytics, consulting, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and real estate, who participated in the campus placement drive.
This year’s placement session also witnessed participation from many first-time recruiters who have offered double-digit compensation to the students. Also, many of them have hired students for their premier internship programme.
All the students from the present batch come with an average work experience of 30 months, with educational backgrounds varying from commerce, engineering, and science.
More than 50% of the batch has been offered a summer internship in FMCG/D and manufacturing industries. Whereas, BFSI and Ed-Tech emerged as the most sought-after sectors. This year, consulting, health and pharma, e-commerce, media, and entertainment firms also participated in the placement drive with more than 20% of the batch choosing profiles in these sectors. Interestingly, marketing and consulting were the most sought-after profiles by the students.
