NTPC, India’s largest power producer, has hired an all-women batch of engineering executive trainees. This is the first for the energy industry on gender diversity. The state-run company is taking such steps to establish an operation room for all women. The motive is to enhance the women employees career growth prospects.
Based on GATE 2021, the women engineering graduates are selected with proficiency in the disciplines of electronics, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation. 30 out of 50 NTPC offers were selected by the women executive trainees till August 16.
The company said, “NTPC has been working on improving its gender ratio wherever possible. It has always believed in providing equal opportunity to all the sections of society and has consciously promoted diversity through its hiring practices.”
