Until a few years ago, it was a common belief that males predominated the software development and IT businesses. Women were not taken seriously in the computer programming, IT, and STEM field. However, the myth has been broken and the situation has changed. Now, women have become an integral part of the IT industry and are considered a strong pillar.
As the interest and position of women have improved in the technology industry, more women techies are applying for jobs and are holding executive roles in top tech companies. Businesses that hire women have a competitive advantage over those naturally inclined to hire men.
In a TechGig poll, 70% of respondents agreed that gender diversity in the software industry has increased. Companies now believe that recruiting people irrespective of their gender but according to their skills, knowledge, and expertise is the best way to ensure equal opportunity for candidates.
The finest example of this is TechGig Geek Goddess 2022 competition, where more than 69,000 women techies have signed up for the prestigious coding competition.
Interestingly, the finale of the 8th edition of the TechGig Geek Goddess coding competition is slated for November 19, 2022. This will be followed by the award ceremony on November 23 along with a virtual career fair and the Women Disruptor’s Conference where more than 16 top diversity leaders from renowned companies will speak about the position of women in tech, career advice and other related topics.
