Not only this, the job market has evolved too in the past 5 years, one must try to upskill yourself on skills that are more relevant today.
Here we bring you an interesting chat of the High-Tea session conducted by TimesJobs on ‘Tips to reinvent your career in the new normal‘, discover how you can strengthen your career in these sectors.
In a chat session Esha Gulati, Regional HR Lead, Asia Region, ZS, said “The COVID-19 pandemic has forced businesses to relook at the way they work, the way their systems and technology is placed, and how they respond to demand. That has led to a huge demand for digital transformation and relevant opportunities. Currently firms are preparing themselves for future skills and hiring talent in those areas.”
On being asked about 5 skills that will be most in-demand by the MNCs in the hybrid work model, Esha said, “Key skills that are important for one to be successful in the hybrid work model are building connectedness while being remote and including people in different set-ups. Apart from these, all the skills relevant in the pre-pandemic and remote set-up world will be transferable.”
Esha also put some light on the in-demand skill (tech and non-tech):
- In terms of tech skills, it is important to keep in mind that one needs to remain updated with respect to how the industry is moving.
- At present, in the technology world, the skills that are high in demand are cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Data Science, full stack development, platforms (e.g. Salesforce), digital marketing, etc.
- Key soft-skills that are relevant in the current times and will remain so in future – learning mindset, strong communication, empathy and having a high-level of integrity.
According to Esha, If you are looking to change your career it is important to take a pause and reflect on what you want to do. Talk to multiple people and pen down the path you want to take. If one is in a difficult situation, talking to someone experienced and putting a plan on paper helps. Will also encourage you to find a mentor.
