The holiday season is here and it’s time for job seekers to take advantage of it. New Year is a great time to be more active for a job search and watch out for some amazing opportunities.
Here are five tips for a successful holiday job search.
1. Seasonal jobs
Taking a holiday job can be a great way to build skills and experience that boost the quality of your resume. It’s also a good time to step out of your comfort zone and experiment with new profiles that interest you.
2. Send season’s greetings and build contacts
Send holiday well wishes to get in touch with your network and new contacts and establish a new bond with them. It’s a good way to break ice with people and start new conversations. This put you in a good position with the networks and they might reach out to you for openings.
3. Define your career goals
Determine your needs and desires, and write a small list of career goals for the New Year. Take it as your New Year resolution and then make sure to achieve it.
Learn some new skills in the New Year. It will help you to show your prospective employers that you’ve been making good use of the holiday season by adding something new to your list.
5. Work on your resume
You will get free time on holidays to work on the resume and improve its quality that increases its chance of acceptance. So, update your resume, add something new to it, delete unnecessary elements, and be set to achieve your goals.
