Indian IT service major, Wipro has decided to roll out pay hike to its employees from next month. The company will award pay hikes to over 80% of its workforce. Wipro is yet to offer salary increments to senior employees above B3 band.
The Bengaluru-based IT service major has decided to roll out a single digital average salary hike to its employees. In an official statement, Wipro confirmed that the salary hike is in line with the previous years. The increments will come along with promotions for high performing employees.
Wipro had announced deferring promotion to its employees in April citing Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown. However, it had promised to honour the job offers extended to its workforce. The company had said that it will start on-boarding of new employees in phases.
The IT service major is India’s fourth-largest tech firm with over 1.85 lakh employees. The promotions will be offered to nearly 1.5 lakh workforce of the company.
Even amid the lockdown, Wipro employees have delivered remarkable work. The company has ensured seamless business continuity and maintained a high standard of service in challenging times. The increment structure is going to be similar to last year. Wipro also plans to take serious of actions to protect critical talent.
The other IT service firms including TCS, Infosys have started offering salary hikes and incentives. TCS rolled out salary hikes on October 1st. Infosys plans to offer 100% variable pay and special incentive for Q2 and roll out salary increases.
The IT industry is going back to the pre-COVID era. Companies have started witnessing a return of pre-Covid levels for IT services.
